Multi-sized Pins?

What are the advantages to multi sized pins? Several guys at the shoot had a few pins that were .010 and a few that were .019. Is this common for target shooters, and where would you use the smaller pins at closer or farther yardages? Thanks

Smaller pins at farther targets. If you are shooting at dots on a target....the larger pin will completely cover the dot.

At most 3-ds(IBO, ASA, MAC) all pins have to be the same size.

Everyone above is absolutely correct. Most hunting sites don't have the smaller pins available.

I like them as small as I can get them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that most hunting sights will have .029 pins so that they are brighter in the early morning or evening. .019 and .010 pins are more for 3D and target shooting so that they don't cover those 12 rings and Xs too much.

I only have .029 and only one bow that I use for everything.

You are correct.

I use HHA single pin sites because they offer a .019 pin in their models.

Spot-Hogg sights offer the pins in sizes of .010 pin, .019 and the .029 in all their sights. The wrap is popular in the .019 and appears to be .029 in full sun light but in dusk or very shaded light the pins reduce down to the .019.
