Gander put in a string d loop for me and after about 80 shots or so it came undone. Good thing I wasn't at full draw.

So...

Is anyone using an Ultra Nok D Loop? Thoughts?

Hmmm...I'm assuming it's metal?

I use a regular D Loop. Wax it, attach it. You're good to go.

This reminds me of a joke by Ron White where he takes his car in to Sears to get a tire changed...certificates all over the walls, etc....goes to leave and his wheel falls off in the parking lot!

I've never shot one but a buddy who has said they are hard on release jaws. Rope D loops are actually really easy to tie on, the trick I've learned is after you tie it on you have to make sure to melt the ends enough so they won't pull through the knot. I think there is a post on how to do it over on huntingnet.com either in the technical or bowhunting section. I haven't read it but have seen it.

You def. want to melt the ends of the string!!! And replace the loop as soon as you see some fraying, the last thing you want is to be at full draw and have it snap!

I took my bow right back in and the supervisor of the archery pro shop was really angry and wanted to know who put on the first loop. He went ahead and put on another loop. This one, by far, looks much sturdier and has the ends melted quite thoroughly.

One of these days, way down the road, I'm going to start doing some of these things myself, but being new to the sport, I'm learning a lot.

Bottom line is that I love shooting my bow, and it was a real downer to have to have any down time.

No metal loops for me. I'm sticking with the string. What a difference!
