Well all I can say is. I put in a lot of homework time and the birds did exactly what the were supposed to, but I blew the shot! I had a monster of a long beard come to within 20yds. When I initially drew back I had to let down and never reseated the nock on the string so when I took the shot, of course it went way off target. To pour more salt in the wound, I decided to stick around and see if anything else would show. Maybe 2hrs later two nice jakes show up, probably 6-7in of beard on the one. He was at around 10yds. My broadhead hit one of the rods on the blind and the arrow just took out some feathers. Someone up above just didn't want me to kill a turkey yesterday. I gotta get rid of this black cloud that's hanging over me.
![]() The best part is my dad got it all on film, so I have all the time in the world to go back, review, and maybe pout about it some more.

You will get one yet. Thats what makes hunting rewarding. Just when you think you have it figured out the unexpected happens. Plenty of season and plenty of birds. Hang in there!

Experiences like that will make the harvest so much sweeter. Good luck and don't give up. We have all had bad experiences.

Sounds like Murphy was sitting in the blind with you.
You'll get one down soon though! Keep at it!
