Well for starters I worked 11:00 am Monday - 7:00pm Monday evening then decided to come back in at 9:00pm Monday - 3:30 am Tues just so I could go scouting. Boy was it worth the trouble and lack of sleep!!! I dug myself in along a field edge where Bullmoose and I have been getting pictures of a nice long beard. Sunrise came and went and all I heard were some faint gobbles to the east. I was kinda bummed, but decided to stick around just in case there was a gobbler in the area w/ tight lips. Next thing you know I hear a couple hens start yelping...I'm thinking this is good, could be a gobbler in tow. The farmers dog starts barking and absolutely sets this bird off...gobbling his head off. After a few minutes I see a fan cresting the knuckle in the field, here they come. Two long beards and 3 or 4 jakes...I couldn't tell exactly bc the sun was directly in my eyes. So I watched the show for awhile ..all the while wishing it was opening day. After 10-15min I started planning my escape w/o being seen. I look behind me and discover I'm sitting in a quagmire of green briars, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I belly crawled about 20yds under blow downs through briars just to get away unseen...I'm so ready for the 26th to get here!!!

Hey thats cool, it's nice when you have to belly crawl to get away from the turkeys!
