It depends what state, but here in Ohio I would have to say usually within the first hour but then again I'm pretty positive I've shot them at just about any time you could ask for before noon. I would say for the most part they are within the first hour of daylight and from 9:30 to 11 range.

I've shot over 90% of my turkeys after 10:30. I've only shot 2 or 3 before 8:00.

We seem to have better luck after 9am, only have shot one tom before 9am but it was after 8am.

Usually just an hour after Day Light we have some luck. But a few have been taken in that last hour or two before Noon, which is Ohio's cut off time.

I think I've killed all my birds before 9-930. I've shot a couple within a half hour of fly down but most have taken a little longer. Never shot any close to quitting time though (noon for us in PA).

SHHH! Turkeys don't gobble after 9AM. Go home, get a nice breakfast, you won't miss a thing.
I have had my share of after they hop off the roost deal sealers, but most of them have been after 9 when there seems to be less pressure and the girls are headed to the nest. Expecially later in the season.

Oddly enough mostly between 9 and 10 although I have killed one or two in the afternoon.
