Be careful this spring!!!

I'm sure most of you already know this....but for those of you that don't, read on!!!!

When setting up your turkey decoys, make sure you place them is such a way that no one can sneak into your setup from the opposite side and send a bunch of lead flying into your direction.

In other words.....make sure there is no cover behind your decoys as you set up waiting for that long beard.

As a full-time firefighter, I've seen first hand what a hot turkey load will do to the human body. This particular guy survived....but I'm sure it will be a long time before he forgets taking a full shot of hot lead into his groin and surrounding area.

QUESTIONS....how many holes is too many when it comes to one's plumbing??? This guy had a total of 26 holes in the twig and berries...not to mention his legs and waste line.

Just remember......NO COVER BEHIND YOUR DECOYS!!!!!

I know of a least three instances where someone in my area has had a trespasser sneak in on their decoy set and fire a shot.

Also, just because you are the only person with permission to hunt a particular piece of property....don't think that means you are the only one there. It only takes one stupid trespasser to change your life forever.

Stay safe and provide lots of hero shots of those big gobblers!!!!!!!!

Firediver great thread! Also be sure of your target! Dont just shoot because you think its a gobbler. Be 150% sure that it is!

i read where a Florida hunter was killed already this season.....and the guy that shot the man had his 6 yr. old with him....apparently he shot at a bird, went to get it and realized he had shot this guy across the way as well....thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.
