Any of ya'll been out to check on how your gobblers came thru the winter? A friend told me of seeing 3 strutting at the beginning of the week. Season don't start until April 14th. I hope they was just practicing and not really getting turned on already!

The dogwoods and redbuds are in full bloom. Been seeing gobblers strutting in fields and they're about to drive my BIL crazy gobbling in the mornings. 2 weeks and we can get after them.

Over on another forum the Nebraska birds are being killed by flying sharp sticks.
In Ohio someone told me the local flocks are looking pretty good after a very mild winter.

On of the guys on ShotgunWorld is up to 4 I think he said. He's down in SC and plays in swamps. I think I'll stick to my mountains, thank ya very much! Bad enough with the possibility of running up on a copperhead or rattler. In SC, I think they've got those 2 plus cottonmouths and gators...UH...NO THANK YOU! Their season down there has been in for almost a month I think. Heck it might be just about over, when mine ain't even started.
Oh well! It'll get here when it gets here...'Til then I'll just play with my callers and go thru my vest again once or twice.

Getting smacked around here at work. It looks like I won't get out until Monday the 23rd. I'll have lost a whole week of season by then!
On the other hand...I DO have a job, so I reckon I'd best shut my soup coolers, huh?
