Default Bear down in Quebec

Another great trip to Select Wilderness Adventures outside of La Tuque QB!

It was a quick trip, I got my bear at 8pm on my first night...

Not a huge bear, but my best so far...

Around 200 lbs with a nice head!!!

Like the old saying, "Don't pass on the first day what you would shot on the last day!"

He came up the path behind me at around 8pm. Was a little spooky and circled the stand and came into the bait from the thicket. Once he calmed down at the bait I drew and shot. The Slick Trick blew through him, he went 30 yds and crashed!

Then I heard the moan!!!

I got a video of another smaller bear later that night, I will get it posted and share later.

The other bear sniffed my arrow at the bait and walked away. It completely ignored the bait!

Looking into taxidermists here in Indiana now...

Looking at either a half body mount on the wall with it reaching back to bite at the arrow or get the front half mounted like its walking out of the wall and the back half mounted to go on the othe side of the wall...

Default Nice!

Another Slick Trick broadhead devotee added to the fold!

As for the size / weight issue on any bear, my growing belief is to proudly take a "good representation of the species" if you're so inclined. i.e. If you like him, take him! Weight is only one measure of a good hunt. If you're all about being a trophy hunter and holding out for the serious recordbook bears, go for it! (But don't get beotchy in the camp lodge when you're at the last day and eating tag soup).

Thanks everyone!!

I've been shooting Slick Tricks for about 3 years now. Lots of meals on the table thanks to those little heads.

I left out the pics that show the exit wound. The one guide said "It looks like you shot him with a slug gun!"

The guide actually thanked me for making the tracking job so easy!
