Newbie here! I'm hunting Newfoundland June 6-13

Glad to be here, mates. Besides really enjoying Ralph and Vickie's bear hunting antics (and skill), this site and forum looks super.

I'm hunting black bear with Victoria Outfitters in Newfoundland June 6-13. Should be a great time - fly fishing for landlocked salmon and brook trout as well.

Any of y'all hunt there or in that general area? Some big blackies? Would you expect the black flies to be bad early June?

I took a nice chocolate color phase in '08 in Saskatchewan with my Mathews Drenalin - 300 lber. So I'm ruined now (which is good).\
