Default Whiskey Marinade

Kick your steaks up a notch!!

for 3-4 steaks

Combine....
1/2 cup of Jack Daniels
1/4 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
juice from 1/2 lemon
1 tsp minced garlic

Mix well and pour over steaks in a large plastic bag.
Refrigerate for 1-3 hours

GRILL AWAY!!!!

A few grilling tips for steak.....

1. grill your steaks at room temperature...the meat is relaxed and will cook evenly.
2. sear them on a hot part of the fire and then slide over to a medium heat
3. only flip your steak once. You will know it is time to flip when "juice" starts pooling on top of the steak.
4. flip it onto the hot part of the fire to sear the other side...then move to medium heat. At this point, it is almost done.

Here is a video I found on Youtube that will help you determine how "done" the steak is without cutting into it...losing all of the juice.
JUICE = FLAVOR

Once you remove the steak from the grill....let it rest for about 5 minutes before cutting into it. Ever cut into a steak and all of the juice spills out onto the plate? Just let it rest for a bit.

ENJOY

Sounds good!

Buddy Bill stopped by tonight and wants me to do another pork loin. It must be good, his wife likes it and she doesn't really like pork!

Those pork loins are my favorite...especially with the Hawaiian sweet rolls and a little bbq sauce......and a key lime pie chaser

Hmmm . . . sounds good but we use HEB steak seasoning (very, very cheap but oh my goodness good!!) and some olive oil, saving the Jack for coke and whiskey glazed carrots.

Is that 1/2 cup of Jack before or after sampling(you've got to sample to make sure it hasn't gone bad)
