i did a moose hunt here in Minnesota in 1991., that was the year they changed it to once in a lifetime for residence.,,and this was my fist year to draw and me and 3 others drew a tag ., ., so we shot a bull just south of my place about 25 miles.,well the 3 other guys got in on the shot but me and the camera guy went thru the swamp to get to the other side ,just in case the bull came that way .,didn't get anything .,no shot ,no film ,nothing ,but a dead bull.

Well to make along story short. My buddy in NH handed me a piece of paper when i was visiting him. Here it was the notification that he drew a moose tag. He said to me here is your moose hunt you are my subpermitee. I couldnt believe it!!
They have a 9 day season. I told him the first 4 days I will hunt with the bow for a bull only. After that I will use the gun and shoot first descent one that gives us a shot. Well first day with the gun I hunted maybe 15 minutes and saw 7 cows. I shot a nice cow at 167 yards free handed. (Dont even say it Firediver I know what you are thinking!![]() ) Now I really want a bull!

I hunted with Serpentine Valley Outfitters this past season, took a 32" 16 point bull the first day. Those dudes are huge! I also have a freezer full of meat now.

Here's my Saskatchewan bull, only legal animal I saw in 11 days he's not the biggest but I sure was excited finally got one on the ground after 2 trips and 25 days of hunting! First hunt was bow in Ontario and this one started with my bow but after 5 days of nothing I broke out the long distance bow!

I was just notified by the NH Fish & Game that the Moose lottery is now open for 2008. I have never been picked in the draw but I'm putting in for a chance again this year. Maybe I'll have my name drawn this is the year. Overall the NH Moose hunt success rate for 2007 was 71%. |

I also hunted with Serpintine Valley Outfitters me and my buddy both shot bulls 35-38'' wide but would not recomend them again that hunt was in 2005. Oct 2008 going back to NF for moose with Portland Creek Outfitters. The number of moose you see in a week is any where from 50-100!!! Great hunt for the price you can hunt NF 3 times for the price of one alaskan hunt but you do give up a little size. Portland Creek takes many bulls over 50'' every year Serpintine Valley just want you to get your bull so they can go home.
