Best Crossbow

In your honest opionion, which is the best crossbow for the money? My friend was wanting a Bowtech Stryker for $1300 (405 fps) but I know here are other crossbows out there that shoots just as well for alot less.

One word: Excaliber

You can't go wrong with the price or quality for that matter. Half the price of the Bowtechs and preform just as good.

Any particular model that you recommend? Is the 405 fps that the Stryker is supposed to have mean anything compared to the speed of an Excaliber?

I have 06 TenPoint Elite that I love. It is a little heavy but they do make lighter models now. I read on a forum that someone bought a used Bowtech compound bow and something was wrong the limbs. They ordered replacement limbs but they weren't covered under the warranty because they weren't the original purchaser. They ordered the new limbs and they didn't have a warranty at all. I don't know if it is true or not but I would check out there warranty just to be sure.

There are a lot of Great Crossbows out on the market today. So many improvements have been made over the past few years it's hard to put one over the other. My best advice to you and your friend is to shoot as many as you can. Pay close attention to the way the feel and sound, once you have made sure it is the right fit of course. If it is not comfortable and does not fit you properly, then you will not shoot it effectively either. Pay attention to those details and not the name on the crossbow. You aslo need to determind how you are going to draw the bow, this will ensure consitency both on the range and in the field. Hope this helps.
