What we tell our guest to look for when determining if it is a boar or a sow:

Big back end, small front end = sow
Big, broad shoulders, deep chest = boar
Long skinny face = sow
Squared off, blocky head = boar
Small, dainty fee in relation to the body/legs = sow
Pigeon toed, wide feet = boar
Comfortable, confident gait = boar
Pushy, nasty, bad attitude = sow

Sows also generally rub earlier than mature boars. You'll see tell tale rub marks on a breeding sow on her flanks just in front of her hips.
