The 55@28 means that you are drawing 55 pounds at 28 inches. You can draw farther that that, but it would be drawing more than 55 pounds. The 55@28 is the AMO rating that is used on most traditional bows. You will want a heavier arrow weight for a smoother flight, but you will need to practice with different weights and spines to find one that works with that bow and your form.
