They do cut the skull plate like a deer, but the horns on a antelope is actually hair that grows over a raised pedical(spelling
). That is a sheath that they shed every winter and regrow the next year. So when mounting an antelope you must remove the sheath and clean the skull plate and reattatch with glue or putty. Hope that is clear as mud.
