I don't think there's a bad age to start a child in the woods. The parents , on the other hand, are gonna need some patience and be willing to cut their hunts short if the child gets too restless. We've got to remember that to a child, being cooped up and quiet is more like punishment than fun.
Invest in some earmuffs made for child size heads, too. Gameboys and coloring books help alot also.
My grandson has been hunting with his Daddy since he was about 3 years old. Give that youngun a bag of chips and a DP, he'll sit right with ya.
