Rest Quest
So I'm thinking about "upgrading" my rest from a biscuit to a drop away. I've read a bit about QAD Ultra-Rest, but has anyone in here used it? What are your opinions? Are there other rests that will do a great job at a reasonable price (@$50)?
Much obliged. |
I have never shot the QAD, but I currently shoot the NAP smart rest and love it. I know NAP makes a couple different drop aways, the smartrest, the scissor rest, and the QT 4000 (I think). A lot of the posse shoot one of the NAP fall aways and have really good luck with them. I have shot the Schaffer as well, it's a good rest but it's also about $120. Good luck with your hunt.

I use the QAD Ultra Rest-Hunter. I had the whisker biscuit and loved it for the ease of use. I was reluctant to go to a drop away because I thought it would be hard to tune and maintain but I also wanted to shoot the QS Speed Hunter vanes so the biscuit had to go. I heard a lot of good things about the QAD Ultra so I tried it and was so impressed it is now on BOTH my bows! Super easy to install and set up and very reliable and quiet. I even get tighter groups shooting it :)

Vital Bow Gear has a rest that "arrests" your arrow like the WB but it is still a fall away rest so nothing ever touches your vanes. I'll see if I can find a pic of it. There is also the Ripcord rest. Same thing.

i have a qad hunter and it does alright. i'm sure the higher priced ones work a little better. i was really thinking about puttin a WB rest on my bow for ease of use and no moving parts.
