Hard time picturing turkeys in Canada
 

Turkey are doing real good in most place in Ontario, up to the central part then they start to drop off after that. Most of them seem to stay around the areas with farms and farm fields so that there is a good suppy of food. For the past 4 years my dad has fed anywhere from 20 to 40 turkeys all winter lone to keep them going. An neighbour on the other road has had as many as 110 feeding in his corn silo in the past, this year there is just over 50 there and 34 at my dads place.

WOW!! That's a bunch of turkeys! You all must eat pretty good up there then...

i'd like to see that in the woods down here, lol......without the snow, lol...

MJewell, what part of Ontario are you in? Your not down in the south west where I am. Looks like you could be north of the 401 or out Peterbrough way. I'm down on the shores of Lake Erie. We have tons turkeys down here, the wife had one almost fly into the widow of her car the other day. We live down in a valley and the turkeys fly from the hill behind the house to the field across the road. I don't know how many times I've stoped on the road the last month so the birds could get off the road.There getting as bad as deer here for getting killed on the road. They like to fly across at grill height.

Hey Canuck: I do live north of the 401. Actually live just outside of Newmarket. But hunt 40 minutes north of Lindsay.
