I like that tip with the smoke bomb to check the wind. I was wonder what type of smoke bomb that is that you use and where to get them.

Raven45, bought them at a fireworks store in IN. you can use the small round color ones they sell all over the place for the kids. These i carry all the time and really helps me to understand the wind in certian conditions. The bigger ones help in locations where we normally hunt and trying to hang stands for deer season. You can follow the smoke trail better than anything else and it will teach you how to set up for certian winds.

That was a cool tip!! I'll be using it. ( like I need reason to go into a fireworks store);)

They are military issue! 5-Pack pull pin canister. Puts out approximately 70,000-100,000 cubic feet of bright orange smoke in 3-5 minutes.

I figure I can let one of these babies off and you oughta be able to see the wind from COLORADO!! hehe...

CORick.....WOW, now that will create fog, heck maybe it will confuse the critters and we can use it for stalking up closer! Great idea, make sure you call the firedept before you lite it so they know there is no major fire. This is what I call a SMOKE BOMB!:D

Oh, I see how you are...in Indiana and can pick up some smoke bombs but can't say stop in to say hi! Hmph. (*~*)

I'm waiting to watch an episode where Ralph lights one of the smoke bombs and the wind changes direction and blows back into his face. LOL

What Ralph hasn't told you all is that he & RJ go out and light the smoke bombs, then the wind switches directions and our house s full of nasty smelling smoke!! UARGH!!! :mad::confused:
