My brother is down from Alberta for the week to shoot birds and lots of action on his first outing.

Made it out to the first property, and the plan was to setup at the back of the bush close to a corn field where we knew acouple tom's hung out quite often, put out a standing and breeding hen along with a jake decoy. Bird's were sounding off all around us and we had 3 toms and 7 jakes show them selves but the toms were very weary of the jake decoy and wouldn't come in. Made a move to another property and setup with no deke's this time and used a paddle call and within 10 mins had 3 jakes come in silent, my dad has been passing on jakes since the season opened and I guess he had enough and put his first bird of the year down at 35 yrds.

Dad picked up tag #2 and will not pull the trigger unless it's a longbeard, but our main goal is to put my bro. on a bird. Glassed a field in the evening Mon. with 5 jakes and 2 toms in it along with 2 hens untill they went into the bush to roost. Had an idea where they would be and got setup within 90 yrds of them at about 5:30 am. Whinning and scratching leave's brought the 2 toms into 38 yrds of my brothers barrel and he let the strutter have it at 6:10. If dad had of listened to me and sat right with my bro. we would have had a double.
