204 for yotes
 

has anybody shot the 204 ruger and whats it like for yotes?

I know a guy from my area that kills anything from groundhogs to fox to yotes w/ .204ruger, he does his own shells and its a tack driver.

From what I've read, the most common gun used in Coyote hunting is a 22-250. Honestly... I currently use my 30-40 Krag. (I know I know... too much rifle)

I have a good friend in Texas who hunts them for a living and highly recommends the 22-250 with a decent scope, but also feels that any rifle will do the job so logn as you are comfortable with it.

30-40 Krag??????? How big are these yotes in Colorado????

Did you guys have a chemical leak or radiation dump out there I don't know about.....

I have a .22 long rifle, but it is sooooooo old!

My next smallest is the 30-40.

I was thinking of using the .300 Ultra once though just to see. :D

I couldn't shoot that thing at ANYTHING less than 300 yards out as it is without blowing it to Kingdom Come.

I have a couple buddies that shoot .300 ultra mags at deer and antelope, not pretty most of the time.:eek:

The 204 should Be a great round for stink dogs (yotes) I hear it's a tack driver and has plenty of energy, match that with a good bullet and your set.

that 204 should do the job with plenty of power. a good shot with a 22 will do the job. my friend uses his 17 for everything like that. the 204 will be great
