tired of all the tuning issues with new bows? Im to the point where I dont even want to bowhunt anymore. Ive owned many top quality bows from 3 different manufacurers and the last two HOYTs ive owned have been nothing but trouble. Ive tuned, had pro's tune, had different archery shops try and tune. Its getting rediculous, I can remember my first peice of crap bow I ever owned when i was 9 years old. IT SHOT FINE!! But now You go and spend 1300-???? and you get absolute crap. :mad:

That's the first time I've heard/read that! What exactly is going on that your bow won't tune?

Oh yeah... Sorry Caleb. I read all that, but it's greek to me. If it were a simple center-shot problem or something... I might be of assistance, but you got me there. Good luck though. Seriously.

Tim, Bull, and Firediver are all Hoyt fans. They usually have great answers on the Hoyt stuff.

I hope someones got an awnser for me cause im ready to throw in the towel for the bow season and it hasnt even started yet. this is the same kind of issues I had with the trykon, which is why I bought a bowtech after that. Should of left well enough alone!

I'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with your Hoyt's. I've never been a big believer in paper tuning, not saying it isn't a usefull tool, but I've always just set my bows up to shoot to point of aim. I get my nock height, center shot, and timing set shoot for groups when I'm happy with the groups I'll adjust my sights to where I want and just leave it alone. I consistenly practice out to 60-70 yards and have never really had any issues. I'll re read your post that you and Arrowmike have going to see if I pick up on anything.

ummm well, i've never shot a hoyt but i'll tell you one thing. diamond black ice bows are one of the greatest. my hole family shoots them, never had a problem

Caleb I am with Tim on this one. I dont worry about papertuning a bow. If I can hit where I am aiming and my broadheads and arrows fly true. Well thats all that matters to me. Hope you get it shooting! Dont get discouraged hang in there. I am sure you will get it worked out.:)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like the corkscrew may be a function of form. If your shooting when you're really pissed or at the very least, moderately ticked, you could be torquing the bowstring. I've done that before. I'd been tuning and tuning and got the corkscrew action because I was really torquing on the string so much that I had it pulled against my face too hard. Blam...corkscrew. Once I eased up and re-obtained proper form I was ok.

I agree with the others, dump the biscuit and get a fall away. You will be glad you did!
