Chippewa Bannock
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 5 Tbsp bacon drippings 3/4 c water 1/4 c cooking oil 1. Sift together dry ingredients, then mix in bacon drippings and water. 2. Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet until a drop of water sizzles. Drop the batter from a teaspoon, flatten into cakes and cook 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until browned. Serve hot or cold. |
