Game bags for elk hunting in September
I'm looking for a recommendation from someone with experience on what kind of game bag is best for a September elk hunt in Colorado. Do I go with the cheesecloth style (they're cheap and I don't think they're the ticket, but I've never done this before), heavy duty canvas, or these: http://www.pristineventures.com/products_gameBags.html
I'm looking for something to cool the meat down and protect it from bugs, that's durable enough to hang from a tree and hold up on a pack frame getting carried out. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! Adam |
Adam.
Depending on where you camp, and what I'm able to tell from the area... Cheesecloth ain't gonna cut it, buddy. I'd go fairly sturdy. jmo |
I've been checking and these seem to be best.
http://images.cabelas.com/is/image/c...3?$main-Large$ You can find them at Cabela's The package of 4 Quarter Bags is what you want. When will you be going to Colorado? What unit? |
Those are the best......I sent him a picture of them on my camera phone.
Great minds think alike:D |

You mean you think like Phyllis Diller, too?!?!?!!? |
God help us all...
OH MAN!!! Did I type that out loud???? :D I found those on Cabela's around noon today. Good reviews. |
Sorry, I've been busy. Scott filled me in on what bags he used for his Alaskan moose hunt he told us about. Those bags are the ones we're going to use. I talked to the manufacturer and got their opinion on what exactly we should get (the game bags and also the pack bags).
Monie, we'll be going out in mid-September. |
