Fried Apple Butter Pies
 

You can use canned biscuits but making your own dough works best for me.

Roll your dough(or biscuit) out until its real thin.
Cut into circles or squares(which ever floats your boat).
Put a tablespoon or 2 of apple butter in the middle
Dampen the edges and fold over
Seal edges with a fork or pastry roller
Heat oil in a frying pan..it's gotta get hot so be careful
Ease the pies into the oil and fry until the bottom gets browned then flip
Remove from the hot oil and lay them out on a paper toweled plate
Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon sugar, immediately!

Be extremely careful! The filling will be like NAPALM if it runs out and onto your face, but they don't get to lay around long around my house. They go best with a big glass of milk or a hot cup of coffee.

This is her trip to make up for by bear trip in a couple weeks ago.

She gets 8 days in Vegas I got 7 days in Quebec.

These work best with a "thick" apple butter. You can doctor them depending on your tastes. I like the taste of cinnamon. Sometimes I'll even sprinkle a little extra on the filling before sealing them. My brother likes cloves, so that's what he uses.
