Vicki & BBQ
Hunter: Vicki Cianciarulo
Cameraman: Ralph Cianciarulo
Once again we found ourselves down at Osceola Outfitters with Hoppy and the family! This time we went down there with some of the Posse as well! We had a blast, no pun intended. This time we took our TC 223 Contender down with us to go hog hunting! We were on a mission, we were going to get us bunch of hogs & gators!!
It was extremely hot down in Florida this time and more rain & thunderstorms then normal! I realize that Florida in July is hot, but it was more humid then usual too!! Ralph and I went out hunting with Hoppy to look for some hogs. We did some driving around and saw a pile of deer and cattle right off of the bat!
We spotted some hogs in the green field and Ralph was up first, so he will have to write and tell you about that hunt!! LOL!
After Ralph’s stalk on his hog and all of the fire ants, it was my turn! We went in search for some more hogs! We drove and checked out some of the different fields and feeders. Hoppy spotted a nice BBQ hog! We checked the wind, to make sure it was in our favor to do a stalk on this hog and then figured out the best way to stalk up on the hog.
We were walking thru some extremely tall weeds, almost as tall as us... which isn’t really saying much! LOL! We got to about 20 yards from the hog and I put my Nikon scope on the hog! I realize that I didn’t need to get that close with the TC, but hey, it is fun trying to get so close!! I squeezed the trigger on the TC Contender and he dropped right there!! No tracking needed!! That was cool!!
We had 2 hogs down and a bunch more to hunt for another day! That is one of the neat things about hunting feral hogs down with Hoppy, there are so many of them!! If you blow one stalk, there are always more hogs to go after!! The only thing you really need to e careful about is the fire ants & snakes!!
Hog hunting is so much fun and can be done all year long. So when there is no open season up in Illinois, away to Florida we go!! It is the perfect medicine for cabin fever!!
Thanks Hoppy, Susan and the rest of the Kempfer Family! You guys rock!! For more info on Osceola Outfitters go to www.osceolaoutfitters.com.
