Chris and I had a fantastic hunt in Southern Alberta hunting with Cory Jarvis and 3 Rivers Adventures, we arrived in Camp on Sept 26th we could hardly wait to start our hunt. The first day was a little slow, but from the second day on we saw a lot of good shooter bucks. Day after day we were spotting and stalking on good bucks and finally it all came together on Sept 29th!
This buck that Chris killed was a buck we were calling the '' Railroad Buck'' you see the day before we had this buck bedded along a railroad track, and after watching him thru the spotting scope for about an hour and planning our approach, the hunt was on!
Unfortunately we had some terrible luck, just as we were approaching the buck to make the final 50 yards of the stalk, a railroad worker pickup truck came down the track and spooked the buck, we were so disappointed but were rewarded in a big way the following day.
On Saturday we again got on the buck about 45 minutes before dark, and after another stalk in a deep draw to hide our approach, Chris was able to take the magnificent buck, he is a 6x5 with a gross score of 205''!
What a thrill for a father and son to be able to have such a fantastic hunt and capture it all on video!
