In March of 2008, I journeyed with Ralph, Vicki, and RJ to Hoppy's in Florida. Well it came my turn to hunt and Ralph had me doing a spot & stalk out in a field. We sneaked across the entire field trying to get to the hogs. He had me going around what I called the "jungle." It was a mass of palmettos and thicket, so I called it the jungle. I was so out of breath at times, trying to keep up with Ralph, but I did it. They say we all need to exercise and I sure did!
We got to the hogs and we got everything ready to shoot. I felt confident with my Ten Point Crossbow because earlier with my practice shots and sighting in I was right on target. Well, guess what, I took aim, fired, and MISSED!!!
The crew headed back to Florida to Hoppy's in June. We went back to the same field with all the palmettos where I had missed in March and stalked another hog! This time it all came into place for me and guess what! I shot my hog and it was a great shot. The hog traveled back into the palmettos and Ralph tracked him about 20 yards. It was a wonderful trip and I plan to go again soon.
