My favorite hunting memories are from my childhood hunts. I enjoyed heading to the woods with my Grandfather and Dad. Whether it was busting brush piles for rabbit or relaxing under an old oak tree for squirrel, I just enjoyed being in the woods with them. And today I get to share that same enjoyment and passion with my daughters.
I was born and raised in northwest Illinois. I grew up in a hunting family so it came natural to find a love for the outdoors and share that as a family. Not only was it an extra food source, it was a tradition handed down from my Grandfather and Dad to my brothers and I.
I am 34 years old, married and I have two daughters. I work at our local hospital as the lead in the landscape department, which allows me to enjoy nature even more. Archery has been my obsession for the last 23 years ever since my Grandfather gave me my first recurve bow. Teaching archery to the youth in my area has been my enjoyment for the last 10 years, and I truly believe there is no better reward than to have a child’s face light up after they have succeeded and accomplished a goal with your help and guidance. I enjoy every aspect of hunting, from the preseason food plots and shed hunting to the target practice and the sitting in the stand and waiting. Since joining Archer’s Choice I have learned a new exciting aspect of the hunt through filming. It is just as much of a rush being behind the camera as it is holding the weapon. And having someone else there to share in the excitement is a plus as well. Genesis 27:3
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me [some] venison;
